Filter Data on DOCPACE® Insights

Learn how to efficiently filter and analyze data in DOCPACE® Insights to uncover key trends and improve decision-making.

Overview

Filtering data effectively in DOCPACE Insights ensures that users can access the most relevant information for their needs. Filtering options are available in every workbook on the bottom right-hand corner of the page. The filters vary based on the schedules being fetched by DOCPACE, and this guide will walk you through the main filtering options.

Types of Filters

The main filtering options available across all datasets include:

  • Departments

  • Providers

  • Provider Types

  • Appointment Types

  • Insurance Types

Each workbook may also contain unique filtering options specific to its dataset. These specialized filters will be covered in individual training guides for those workbooks.

Applying Filters

Example: Filtering Data on the Growth Page

To demonstrate how to apply filters, we will focus on the Growth Page and filter data to view only the Lakewood Hospital Center, a specific provider, and a specific appointment type.

Step 1: Select a Department

  1. Locate the Department filter.

  2. Unselect all options manually.

  3. Select Lakewood Hospital Center to filter data exclusively for that location.

Step 2: Select a Provider

  1. Locate the Provider filter.

  2. Use the search bar to quickly find a provider (e.g., "Vince").

  3. Select only Vince to focus on their performance.

Step 3: Select an Appointment Type

  1. Locate the Appointment Type filter.

  2. Unselect all options and select only Follow-up Appointments.

  3. Now, only follow-up appointments for Vince at Lakewood Hospital Center are displayed.

Resetting Filters

If at any point you need to reset your filters:

  • Use the filter icon to deselect all filters.

  • Click the All button to select or deselect everything at once.

  • Click Reset Filter View at the bottom to return to the original dataset view.

Saving Custom Views

If you frequently use a particular filtered view, you can save it:

  1. Click Save Custom View.

  2. Enter a name (e.g., "Lakewood Vince Follow-up").

  3. Click Save.

  4. If you want this view to be your default every time you open Insights, select Make it My Default before saving.

  5. The saved view will appear under the View Category section.

Managing Saved Views

  • To revert to the default view, select the original dataset.

  • You can pin a saved view to make it the default.

  • Use the edit option to rename a saved view.

  • Use the delete option to remove a saved view.

Best Practices for Filtering

  • Use provider type and appointment type filters to ensure irrelevant data does not impact the metrics you are analyzing.

  • Leverage the search function when filtering large datasets.

  • Save frequently used filters to streamline data access.
