Get Started With DrChat

Set up your DrChat account, onboard your team, and start securely communicating with patients in just a few steps.

Introduction

DrChat is a HIPAA-compliant communication platform designed to streamline interactions between healthcare providers, practices, and patients. This guide will help you get started with DrChat by outlining the necessary steps and agreements required for usage.

Step 1: Visit the DrChat Website

  • Navigate to DrChat.live and click on the Sign-Up button to begin the registration process.

Step 2: Click Through Agreements

  • The Practice Administrator with authority to bind the practice must accept the Business Associate Agreement and the Practice License Agreement.

  • These agreements can be accepted via a click-through process on the website or through DocuSign upon request.

Step 3: Complete the Sign-Up Form

  • Fill out the sign-up form with the necessary details about your practice.

  • View, save, share, or print the legal documents by clicking the blue contract links.

  • After reading the contracts, check the I agree box and click Submit & Continue.

Step 4: Verification and Account Activation

  • Your request will be submitted to DOCPACE for verification.

  • DOCPACE personnel will verify the legitimacy of the Practice Administrator and the practice’s submission.

  • Once verified, an email will be sent to the administrator with a new login and a password reset link.

Step 5: Setting Up Your Account

  • Set up your password using the password reset link provided in the email.

  • Use the new login credentials to access DrChat.

Promoting DrChat Adoption

Getting Providers and Patients Started

Once a practice is set up, it’s time to register Providers and Patients.

Provider Registration

  • Each provider downloads the DrChat App and agrees to the click-through terms within the app, including the Provider License Agreement.

Patient Registration

  • Each patient downloads the DrChat App and agrees to the click-through terms within the app, including the Patient License Agreement.

  • Patients must also provide consent for each practice they are invited to.

Inviting Others to DrChat

Existing DrChat providers or administrators can invite others to join by following these steps:

Step 1: Open the DrChat App

  • Click on Invite a Provider, Invite a Practice, or Invite a Patient in the Navigation Menu.

Step 2: Choose a Contact

  • Select a medical professional from your contacts list or enter a new person’s name and phone number to create a New Contact.

Step 3: Send the Invitation

  • The app sends an invitation via text message, including a link to download the DrChat App or to the practice sign-up web link.

Step 4: Track the Invitation

  • The app sends a record of the invitation to DOCPACE's Sales Team for adoption tracking and follow-up.

Step 5: Forwarding the Invitation

  • New contacts can forward the invitation to their practice's administrator.
